If you've always avoided the idea of joining a running club, you’re not alone. As a solo runner, I spent most of my life avoiding interval running and the dynamics of running clubs. The benefits of running alone include; giving me time to think, reflect, enjoy my surroundings, and listen to my favorite podcast or music playlist. I have found many running groups offensive—they are noisy and show no respect for sharing the space with others, not to mention the social anxiety of joining a new group. So, what made me decide to try a running club?


After facing a setback from injury, which turned into an even longer setback due to age, I struggled to find the motivation that once bounced me out of bed every day. I was guilty of frequently researching from the comfort of my bed, "how to find the motivation to get fit again.” Much to my surprise, joining a running club really helped.
